Bethesda have released concept art images to showcase the costume design of Dishonored 2. Little is yet known about the characters you’ll meet in the new game and what story might unfold, but these images may provide some interesting clues.
There are numerous pictures of how the designers and artists wanted certain characters costumes to look with a great deal of specificity to the level of detail on each. All of Dishonored 2’s character designs look fantastic, and the mysterious inclusion of witches in the art may see the return of witch cults once more.
The most interesting mention was the term Black Sparrow, which is seen in the shots over and over. Black Sparrow was the codename for the corroded man novel set just before the events of dishonored 2. It could also be a mention to Queen Emily herself as in the novel she chooses a sparrow costume to attend a ball. Adam Christopher the author of the novel admitted that Emily choosing a sparrow costume for the Boyle Masquerade is a reference to something, but we don’t know what yet. Could it be a secret organization? a new branch of government? Possible, considering the art of the overseer’s bears the same mark.
A few character names have also been given away as image headers include mine baron Aramis Stilton, Jindosh, Delilah and the return of the all-powerful outsider. Many things can be read into these characters and the designs of them. We know the main enemy of the game is Delilah Copperspoon who was a major character in the dishonored DLC, but also happens to be the leader of the Brigmore Witches. It looks certain that Emily and Corvo will face down the Witches once more in the sequel.
