Curve Digital has announced that Copenhagen-based developer Game Swing’s funky 1970’s style dodgeball game Stikbold will be hitting PC on the 1st April, 2016.
Dubbed “a dodgeball adventure”, players fling balls at each other using simple twin-stick controls, starring a diverse cast of wacky characters and various locations on which to ”complete with off-court hazards, random events and boss battles.”
Stikbold features both a story campaign as well as a local multiplayer mode. The former can be played either as a single player game or with co-op action. The story itself ”details Bjorn and Jerome’s quest to restore glory to their team – encountering all manner of weird and wonderful characters and scenarios along the way. Spread across five levels, each with multiple dodgeball battles,”
As for local multiplayer, it supports up to four players with two additonal bots for 3 vs. 3 action. Players will ”pick up a joypad and partake in brutal yet outlandish rounds of dodgeball,” which will feature up to four player multiplayer matches ”where fast reactions, tactics and teamwork combine to create a sports game unlike any other.” Players will be able to choose from 18 different customisable characters.
Stikbold! A Dodgeball Adventure will be priced at £7.99 / $9.99 / €9.99 across all formats, with a 20 per cent discount during the launch period.
