It’s been awhile since rumors of Experience Inc’s Stranger of Sword City coming to Western players arose. The JRPG was ported to PC in Japan in 2014 and has been on PS Vita in the West since March of 2015. However, recently a new bit of information all but confirms that PC players in Europe and the US will be getting Stranger of Sword City.
Today, the ESRB released a rating for the JRPG dungeon crawler, giving it a ‘T for Teen’ rating. Though no official word of plans to release Stranger of Sword City had been announced yet, the existence of this rating most likely means news of Western release is on the way.
The original rumor for this game came when a bunch of unreleased games were discovered on the SteamDB page; Danganronpa, Phantom Brave and Final Fantasy X among them. It would appear that quite a few Japanese publishers are looking at Steam as a more viable platform of distribution among PC players.
We’ll have more on Stranger in Sword City as news becomes available. In the mean time, are there other Japanese titles you’d like to see ported over to PC? Let us know.
