A new project was revealed today from Kasedo Games, who published the Hegemony Rome series. Their new project is known as Excubitor and it aims to be a fresh take on tower defense games with sci-fi elements and fast-paced action brought into the mix.
The game was announced today with the Steam page for the game going live. The game takes place in the far future of 2182 where humanity has colonized the far reaches of space. At the center of human interest is the massive star known as Baphomet. All around Baphomet are scattered crystalline elements called Voidshards that supply humans with a very valuable source of energy. There is a race and conflict to seize control of these elements and use them to unlock new potential and advancement of the human race.
Players take control of the Hammerhead defense craft and are tasked with protecting their research vessel, the Antares, against wave after wave of enemy attacks. Besides interacting directly in the defense of the Antares, players can move to set up defenses on the fly to keep the vessel safe. Players will travel through the Baphomet system in search of new information and research for the Antares to decode in unraveling mysteries of Baphomet, the Voidshards, and the threats to humanity.
Excubitor has no release date at this time, but it is slated for some time in Spring 2016.
