It’s a new year full of new opportunities and though Guild Wars 2 did quite well in 2015, ArenaNet is certainly not going to be sitting on their laurels and basking in the success of their MMORPG. The developer announced some extensive plans to build upon Guild Wars 2 in 2016.
The announcement was made on the Guild Wars 2 website where ArenaNet offered thanks to its loyal fan base before going over the changes coming to the game. Chief among these were major seasonal updates. ArenaNet intends to put out major updates for the game “every three months or so” according to the announcement. The first of these major updates is slated to take place on January 26, 2016.
The top lines of the update will include tweaks to the Gliding Mastery line, new Shatterer quest events and rewards, Fractal of the Mist updates, and updates to World vs World and PVP. WvW in particular is slated for a total overhaul later on this year. Further news and explanation of updates are on the way as we get closer to this first update’s release date. Furthermore, the developer has asked the fan base for support and is looking for opinions and suggestions on what players would most like to see in 2016.
Be sure to check out the full announcement for a more complete list of the known changes coming on January 26.
