With all the hate Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has been receiving since its initial reveal, Activision did the only thing they could do to keep the fans happy: release a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The game that essentially started the huge first-person shooter multiplayer boom in 2007 is back, and this time it looks prettier than ever.
The new gameplay footage shows off Modern Warfare’s first mission (after the tutorial) – Crew Expendable. There aren’t too many Call of Duty campaigns you can really get nostalgic for, with this game being one of the only exceptions.
You can read our original review of the game back in 2007 if you’d like, though we are almost certain you know whether or not you’d like the game at this point. Here’s what James Pikover had to say about the game: “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is exactly what the Call of Duty franchise needed. An exquisite title with an awe-inducing single player campaign, fast paced and exciting multiplayer, and the grand shift away from the overbearing mantra of WWII titles.”
“Though it lacks a few key features expected of it, namely multiplayer on the same machine, Modern Warfare is a must have first person shooter, which anyone should be able to see by the steep decrease in games of Halo 3 being played.” James awarded the game an excellent 9.5 out of 10.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is scheduled to release on November 4th for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Remember, you can’t simply purchase this remastered game on its own, you have to buy the special edition of Infinite Warfare to play this. Those guys are Activision sure are sneaky.
