It was revealed today that South Park fans will have to wait a while longer to experience The Fractured But Whole. The news of the delay came via Ubisoft’s Blog and is disheartening for any South Park fan who is eager to step into the shoes of “the new kid” once again and see the antics of the other characters.
The Fractured But Whole is South Park’s take and criticism of the recent boom in superhero movies, which becomes immediately apparent the moment that you watch the trailer.
Ubisoft gives the reason for the delay as:
The development team wants to make sure the game experience meets the high expectations of fans and the additional time will help them achieve this goal.
Originally slated for a December release the game has been given a new window of Q1. The first game, The Stick of Truth, was developed by Obsidian Entertainment while The Fractured But Whole is currently being worked on by Ubisoft San Fransisco and with the reception of the previous South Park game it can only be assumed that they want to be able to live up to legacy of the previous game.
