What was once thought to be a PlayStation only event has now dug its claws a little deeper. The Elder Scrolls Online free weekend is PC-bound. Oh, and Mac.
Pre-loading through Steam has already begun, meaning anyone can download and play the persistent MMORPG title throughout the weekend with progress being saved should you feel like picking up the subscription-less package once it's over.
Thanks to the recent 'Tamriel Unlimited' update, all level walls and obstacles usually in-place for this kind of game has been shattered. Meaning if you're going into the free weekend to meet up with some friends who've been playing the game for quite some time, you can immediately join them in whichever deadly mission they've decided to pursue. There's a few more details on the system over here.
Diving into the free weekend even nets you 500 'Crowns' - the premium in-game currency you would normally buy with real cash. Even with a score of 8.0 from our own reviewer back in 2014, time has been kind to the MMO everyone wanted but didn't quite stick with.
The 'Free Play Weekend' for The Elder Scrolls Online kicks off at 6pm GMT today and lasts until 6pm Monday - that's November 21.
