Manual Samuel, the game “based on unreal life events” and winner of the “Best Game with Manual Body Functions” award from “The Real Awards Festival” of 2016, releases this October 14th on PC. To prepare the public for the upcoming launch, developer Perfectly Paranormal has released a trailer that gives us a look into the man whose shoes we will be stepping into in a months time.
Samuel has had an easy life up till now, however things begin to change after he has an accident. After having a run in with a truck the titular character is forced to operate his bodily functions manually for 24 hours. But he will not be alone in this adventure, the Grim Reaper is right there to tag along.
Manual Samuel looks as though it has taken the same class on walking mechanics as Octodad and QWOP but with many other added controls. Operating Samuel’s body manually also means making sure that he is able to breathe as well as walk. To quote the press release:
[blockquote]”Players control every aspect of Samuel. Right and left stick to walk, sure, but don’t forget to press to breathe in, press to breath out, press to blink, hit the triggers to walk…” [/blockquote]
Samuel’s affliction will make a much harder and more hilarious tasks of everyday things such as using the bathroom and driving Samuel’s car. All the while Samuel will have to keep both his boss, his girlfriend and even Death happy. It is a “laugh-out-loud tale of love, redemption and faeces. [sic]”
