Another month, another major addition to Riders of Icarus. The creature-taming MMORPG is currently in open beta, and last month’s update saw a plethora of new content and an increased level cap. Now this month’s update adds a new region focused on providing competitive players a place to have their battlegrounds.
The Exarahn Badlands update adds the titular region, a land of darkness and chaos. Players, however, will enter through a time travel portal, transporting them back 1,000 years to the height of the Exarahn Kingdom. Naturally, you’ll have a whole host of new mounts to tame, and players will have to work together to capture some of the most impressive.
Guilds that have reached rank 3 are now able to form Alliances, and can declare war on opposing Alliances. Players will duel on the ground and in the air, with the winner receiving a special buff. Alliances can also participate in weekly Manastone Battles, capture-the-flag-style competition that will reward winners with a ten-person Stingray mount.
Players who aren’t part of a guild can also participate in PvP by joining the militia, providing an opportunity for competition and a bit of protection in the Badlands. The full update goes live today.
