Seemingly forever locked in ancient conflict, we'll be fighting in and around China once more in the recently announced Dynasty Warriors 9.
Absent from their line-up reveal last week, Koei Tecmo decided to announce the existence of the classic 'Warriors' sequel during Jump Festa after shattering many preconceptions and derailing the hype trains steaming into their last announcement opportunity.
Without any mention of available platforms or a tentative release date, it's easy to imagine we won't be seeing this one for a while. Busy with spin-off titles like Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, a Zelda iteration and even the upcoming Berserk & The Band of the Hawk, we can guess Dynasty Warriors 9 is in the very early stages of development.
Announced at another event last week, Koei Tecmo will support PC players to three big-name JRPGs
Though Koei Tecmo was nice enough to quell fears of its non-existence with a short teaser trailer, they're promising to revitalise the franchise by attempting to bring it into the ever-popular open-world format. Zhou Chang will make a return with the ninth main-series game still taking ques from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms literature.
Whether we'll see Dynasty Warriors 9 on PC or not is the big question here. We feel it's likely given Koei Tecmo's increased support for the platform. And with no specific platforms to speak of just yet, we're not immediately looking at exclusivity either.
