Ark Survival Evolved developers Studio Wildcard have released a new expansion for the survival game. Scorched earth brings a host of new features including dinos, mechanics and new procedurally generated maps.
The new map system will allow more customization that ever before. Players can determine a myriad of landscape options from the heights of mountains, depths of valleys, and the number of lakes, rivers or oceans, to the kinds of each biomes they want. Some other new features of the game include the ability to wield weapons on smaller dinos. Players can also neuter tamed creatures to control your populations.

There has been some controversy brought by the new scorched earth expansion, mainly due to the fact that Ark is still an early access game and scorched earth is a paid expansion. This has left players questioning why there is a paid expansion when the main game is still not complete.
There’s certainly some interesting content in the expansion for players to get their hands on including over 50 new craftable items. Scorched Earth is available now for $14.99.
