Announcing one shortly before the other, the DLC releases for Warhmmer End Times: Vermintide have released just as close to each other - but in the opposite order. With the Karak Azgaraz expansion out of the door, it's time for the VR mode - Hero Trials!
If you're still a little sceptical when it comes to VR titles, let it be know that Hero Trials is a purely on-rails counterpart to the main Vermintide game. We shared livestream footage of the mode during its reveal a few months ago, so you can get a good idea of its worth there.
With 3 combat levels total, it's not a massive undertaking - but a fine addition to the recently released Karak Azgaraz DLC. You'll start by getting to grips with your new eyes in the Red Moon Inn before being tasked with standing your ground in the Hall of the Poison Feast. Survive that mess and you'll head on into Reikwald on the outskirts of Ubersreik before traveling through the minds of the Ungdrin Rail.
It might not reflect all the recent DLC add-ons, but our Vermintide review might still sway the sceptics.
The first half of the experience - that being the Red Moon Inn and Hall of the Poison Feast sections - act as a free taster for anyone without the main Vermintide game. Those with, however, get the full package as a free add-on. And for those with a copy of the game and no HTC Vive, you can redeem 2 $50 vouchers through a convinient Fatshark promotion!
Whichever catagory you fall into, there's a download button for the Hero Trials VR experience here. Chances are, Steam will pump it straight through if you already own Vermintide. Otherwise, there's your link.
