The upcoming expansion to Cities: Skylines, ‘Natural Disasters’, is heading to an emergency shelter near you on November 29th. Publisher Paradox Interactive and developer Colossal Order announced that the expansion will be available worldwide, and released an all new developer diary to go alongside the announcement.
When talking about the new expansion, the developers said “Natural Disasters will add a new set of emergent emergencies to Cities: Skylines, including tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, forest fires, meteor strikes, and more. Players will have to keep their cities safe by investing in newly available early warning systems and disaster response teams – or simply trigger disasters deliberately out of pure spite.”
The expansion will bring several new features to the game and players must combat disaster scenarios. It isn’t just the disasters themselves players must face, players also must build emergency shelters to make sure they have locations for the cities population to wait out the disasters in safety.
The new expansion’s disasters look impressive in the game, especially in an already great looking city builder. The inclusion of Scenario Mode allows players to design custom game objectives, including custom starting cities, win conditions, time limits, and more. The expansion will arrive on November 29th worldwide on Steam and the Paradox store.
