There’s very little quite as video game-y as punching dudes in the face. Well, there is one thing–making your stats go higher. So it’s really no surprise that Punch Club, a game about punching dudes in the face and making your stats go higher became such a hit.
What would make Punch Club better? If you said more dudes to punch, I think you’re onto something! A new update called the Dark Fist will let your fighting dude don a mask and start fighting crime. It’s three hours of new content that I imagine will be a lot like the first season of Daredevil, except with less blindness and somewhat less graphic violence. Oh, and it’s free!
In addition to that, the game’s also getting cross-platform cloud saves, allowing you to take your progress back and forth between PC and mobile. And on top of THAT, Twitch is getting directly integrated into the game itself, allowing users to bet on fights and take those winnings back into the in-game currency.
Punch Club was a pretty major success, thanks in part to its smart capitalization on the Twitch Plays phenomenon. It also seems to be a solid casual management game, so I’m sure that helps. It’s good to see the developers continuing to support their baby. This update will launch on March 8.
