Utilizing Bethesda’s newest game and graphics engine at the time, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim utilized character models that were top-notch at the game’s release. However, as time has passed, these models pale in comparison to what the mod community has come up with. One such recently released mod tackles a full retexturing of an NPC and follower from Skyrim’s ‘Dawnguard’ DLC: the pure-blood vampire Serana
Dubbed ‘Seranaholics’, this mod comes from user rxkx22 and can be found in our Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Mods page. Serana is a character that players meet in the Dimhollow Crypt of the ‘Dawnguard’ core questline. After being awoken from a very long slumber, Serana becomes an essential part of the player’s main questline in the DLC. The player can rescue her from vampirism or become a vampire alongside her.
The mod substantially retextures Serana, giving much more high definition and vibrancy to the vanilla character model. Players are given a lot of options with which to change the eyes, hairstyle, fangs, and other variable features. Regardless of the options chosen, the new Serana character model will look much more gorgeous and life-like than her vanilla counterpart.
