As the Oculus Rift and other VR systems prepare for their initial launch, game developers are working to have their products at the starting gate of this trend. Today, Polish-based Anshar Studios announced what will be one of the first games to come to the Oculus and Vive systems in 2016 in the form of a space survival adventure, Detached.
Announced in a press release alongside a teaser trailer on the Graczpospolita.pl YouTube channel, Detached places players aboard an outer space station that has been sabotaged and destroyed due to the warring tensions between two giant mega corporations. The wreckage of the station serves as a sandbox environment that can be explored entirely within the confines of certain resources.
The player has a jet pack and limited oxygen. They must navigate the station and solve puzzles to find a means of getting back to Earth. They’re not alone though. Part of one of the warring factions, a member of the second faction is roaming about looking to accomplish the same goal. The player must stay one step ahead of the rival and outwit them in order to survive the ordeal.
Detached will be coming sometime in Q3 and pre-orders for the game are available now for $19.99 (€ 17.99). You can find out more about the game and pre-order on its official website.
