We’re well into the new year and the video game industry is coming out swinging with plans for 2016 and 2017. Electronic Arts is certainly no slouch. They recently had their Q3 2016 earnings release, during which outside of announcing their sales, they also announced a deadline for the release of Titanfall 2, Mass Effect: Andromeda, and a new Battlefield.
The report, which can be found over on the EA corporate website mostly detailed EA’s success in the current fiscal year due in part to the success of Star Wars: Battlefront. The big news however came near the closing of the prepared comments of the report. Reportedly, a new Battlefield, Titanfall 2 and Mass Effect: Andromeda will all see release before the end of March 2017.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson specifically had this to say on the matter of all three games:
”An all-new Battlefield game from DICE will arrive in time for the holidays, we’re excited to have a new Titanfall experience coming from our friends at Respawn – and of course, Mass Effect Andromeda from the team at BioWare will launch later in the fiscal year.”
At the very least, it appears we’ll be getting a new Battlefield before the end of 2016. The fiscal year for Electronic Arts ends on March 31, so that means that we can expect Andromeda and Titanfall 2 by the end of March 2017 at the latest, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t launch sooner as well.
