Gamers who love fast, intense combat in the Star Wars universe had a lot of games to choose from the late 90’s, including the X-Wing and TIE Fighter games. Now, 1998’s Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3D is now available on Steam.
Unlike the X-Wing and TIE Fighter games, Rogue Squadron 3D eschewed real-life physics and just went with the rule of cool, zipping around in your chosen ship. Players could fly around such settings as the Tattooine desert, the urban Corellia, or above the waves of the ocean planet Mon Calamari. A number of ships were available to pilot over the course of 16 missions, and three levels including “Beggar’s Canyon”, “The Death Star Trench Run” and “The Battle of Hoth” could be unlocked.
For those who prefer Good Old Games, the game was released on GOG last year in January.
