After just 3 days in the field, Final Fantasy XIV's final main-tier raid of the Heavensward expansion has been quelled.
Though purposely tuned to be slightly easier than the two tiers before it - thanks to groups either giving up or never clearing the harder skirmishes - the finale to the Alexander 8-man raid didn't survive the week.
At 11:30 in the morning a guild going by the name 'Angered' stole the World First kill from under the feet of usual contended 'Elysium' who managed their clear just 2 hours later.. Over all, 5 of the teams from all regions shut down Alexander Prime by the end of the day with Europe coming in first, followed by US and Japan 2 hours apart.
While some would judge a raid tier being completed so soon would point toward a lackluster experience, the Final Fantasy XIV community as a whole have been incredibly supportive after realizing it may be a string of fights more people can enjoy testing themselves against - rather than spending months on each one similar to how many groups failed to defeat 'Brute Justice' 6 months after its February release.
So congratulations are in order for each of the 5 groups ending the great race so soon. There's a handy table keeping track of a long list of guild runs over here with dates and times all accounted for.
