It's no secret that Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is indeed coming, but even with another DLC pack on the way for the first game, Fatshark are kicking up the sequel's development blog to talk all about what's coming up in the sequel. And we're not just fighting ratmen this time around.
The Skaven will likely still be the primary focus of Warhammer: Vermintide 2, but they're certainly not the only beasts you'll have to fend off. As shown in the original trailer, we're going up against the combined might of the Skaven and their new Nurgle-following Chaos friends.
The first developer diary touches less on the Skaven and more on the Chaos entities you'll come across on your journey. Chaos Warriors are menacing looking humanoids clad in armour that will likely take some force to break through.

Fighting for nothing but the continued destruction of the world, these beings ignore the notion of nourishment and rest to keep doing the work of their god. Just as they dish out heavy blows with a massive axe, they'll eventually fall to similar punishment. It'll be a battle of wits with these guys, and they don't look to have much of that.
Somehow even more grotesque comes the Chaos Spawn. Greedy for power, these once great warriors have morphed into something you'd expect to see in an H.P. Lovecraft novel due to the excess gifts received from their Dark Gods. Typically looking to seek out a lone ally to devour with its sharp teeth, these towering beasts are far faster than they look. Preying on a single-target means the best way to fend them off is to attack from all angles as a team.
Vermintide 2, through this short dev blog alone, is shaping up to be far more dangerous than the last. As terrifying as a horde of ratmen can be, throwing demonic shades in there for good measure will have Fatshark's long-awaited sequel become something even the most devoted Left 4 Dead player can't ignore.
