Celebrating some kind of unknown milestone reached with Phantasy Star Online 2, Sega has managed to squeeze Kat into a piece of sci-fi armor that might actually offer up a little more protection.
The problem here, however, is that even after so many years on the market at this point, Sega has continued to act as if Phantasy Star Online 2 doesn't exist in the West. And, in a sense, it doesn't. Though players hoping to stick it to the man can play the free game's PC version with a partial English patch through the PSO2 Tweaker program, it should be remembered that Sega once promised to bring the title over before just going silent on the matter.

But for those ready and willing to jump through hoops - or for those who maybe already have - you might be pleased to the fast-paced MMO slither its way into the Gravity Rush universe. It's a subtle nod to the game and not quite on the level of collaboration other MMOs have with each other - Phantasy Star Online 2 and Final Fantasy XIV has crossed paths, too - but it's still something a little special for those who dabble in both. Especially if you go through the trouble of grabbing the fan-made English PSO2 client and a Japanese PSN account for the Gravity Rush update.
Yet it still just begs the question of when we'll finally see Sega bring the next chapter in the Phantasy Star universe. For those Dreamcast fans, the original Phantasy Star Online was their first online gaming experience. There's surely a line waiting to relive that feeling.
