With Rebellion opening up the 2000AD license, it looks like things are already starting to pay off. Before an inevitable slew of other comic-based games show up, we're getting a remaster of the 2006 Rogue Trooper to tide us over.
Rogue Trooper - being a bio-engineers killing machine - is one of Rebellion's finest and most recognisable characters within the 2000AD comic universe. Despite that, they've released a 'Who is Rogue Trooper' video to cement him into the minds of others.
For the sake of personal clarity, here's the gist of things; Rogue is part of of a long line of 'Genetic Infantrymen'. Once created as part of a great army designed to survive the harsh environments of Nu Earth, Rogue is the last of his kind. Now hell-bent of avenging the lost of him comrades, he's embedded their biochips into his own powerful equipment - becoming a one-man army that's making sure his old squad gets the kill.

Today's new trailer demonstrates the first time we've seen Rogue Trooper in his new-found HD glory. Taking up a more traditional look commonly seen in the original 2000 AD comics, he's sporting higher geometry counts and in-game assets worthy of a 2017 title. It's more a remake than a remaster, but they're going in-between with the Redux name.
Rogue Trooper Redux comes from TickTock Games' parnership with Rebellion. It's coming eventually, but all they're saying is 'soon'.
