We're just over a week away from the release of Dungeons 3 - a sequel said to be the 'biggest, best and evil-est dungeon sim yet'. On top of its many pre-purchase offerings, Kalypso Media are looking to sweeten the deal even more with a free copy of Dungeons 2.
Much like any pre-order bonus, there's a good chance this is merely to spur more into slapping down the cash a little earlier. Pre-orders help publishers to properly gauge and predict sales numbers, which is data that can be used to make future decisions without so much guesswork.
Already on the table with a Dungeons 3 pre-order a 15% discount on the game itself, a digital soundtrack, 'Throne Room' DLC and beta access to the current build of the game. To tempt those who might be new to the series as a whole, Dungeons 2 is now a instant full-game unlock for newbies to try out before the final release of Dungeons 3. Veteran players will still earn a copy of Dungeons 2 that they can then send (or sell?) onto a friend.

Featuring most of what Dungeons players know and love about the franchise already, it expands upon those by simply being bigger. A fully reworked overworld RTS mode, however, means what was old is now new again. And with Thalya added in for good measure, Dungeons 3 now features a 2-player co-op mode on top of its 20-hour single-player campaign. Oh, and that voice is back. You know the one.
Dungeons 3 launches on October 13. Checking a calendar does, in fact, confirm any suspicions. It's a Friday the 13th release. Grab a copy of both games through Steam.
