The Injustice 2 PC Beta has now suddenly and unexpectedly gone live on Steam, which is excellent news, and will be available until Friday November 10. That's the good news. The bad news is that the beta, and most likely the final game too, will be using Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM.
Injustice 2 is coming to PC! Here's what we want to see!
Everything You Need To Know About Injustice 2 On PC!
The PC Beta is live on Steam now, so if you fancy having a go on Injustice 2 for free you can until Friday November 10. All stages are available and all characters barring the DLC ones (Red Hood, Darkseid, Starfire, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Black Manta) are also available. The only gameplay on offer though is straight 1v1 Online Versus, there isn't even a Practice mode, so I suggest you look up Special Moves for characters before you start playing. Also be warned - it can be a little choppy, and framerates are locked to 30FPS for Menus and 60FPS in-game.
Still, it's only a free beta to test the online and compatibility, not a demo or a free trial, so this should be expected. What was not expected was the inclusion of Denuvo Antitamper DRM, currently the most hated DRM in the PC community for (allegedly) causing performance problems in every game with it. It could still be removed in the final game, but let's face it - it won't. Warner Bros used it for Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and they wouldn't use it in a Beta if they weren't planned on also putting it in the final game.
Injustice 2 was released May 11 this year on Xbox One and PS4 and was the sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us, the alternate-universe DC Comics beat-em-up from the makers of Mortal Kombat. In the original the Joker causes Superman to turn his back on his humanity by killing Lois Lane and destroying Metropolis, and Superman becomes a despot who conquers the planet. Injustice 2 picks up after Batman and his allies have defeated Superman and the evil Justice League, but now they face a new threat from the planet-collecting villain Brainiac. Injustice 2 was a critical, commercial and community hit, and we can confirm that it's fantastic (we've been playing it since May). It's release on PC has been long anticipated so we can't wait.
We initially suspected the PC version of Injustice 2 would be out next week alongside the Hellboy DLC and Justice League movie, which it could still do as a surprise release, but it's less likely since the beta was delayed. Expect it to at least be December.
