Prepare for war! It's coming far earlier than you may have thought. The long awaited sequel in the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War series arrives April 27.
With previous titles in the Dawn of War franchise coming 5 years between each other, the lenghty 8 year gap between Dawn of War II and Dawn of War III has only caused RTS hype to scale to heights similar to that of how StarCraft II was recieved so long after the release of StarCraft: Broodwar.
But we're pulling at strings here. Following the sudden release date announcement, it's time to make sure your systems are up to the task of continuing the never-ended war between that Warhammer universe's many races. You'll be wanting a fairly recent quad-core CPU and a GPU made within the last 4-5 years if you want to see Relic Entertainment's long-awaited sequel in all its glory. Dial it down a little, however, and you'll be able to get this running on a much older, mid-range GeForce 460 or Radeon 6950 with a 3GHz i3 processor. It's not asking for much, but a powerful system will reap the benefits;
Dawn Of War 3 Release Date Set For April 27 - Pre-Order Information Revealed

- Processor: 3GHz i3 logical quad core or equivalent
- Memory: 4 GB of System RAM + 1 GB of VRAM

- Recommended
- OS: 64-bit Windows 10

The official notes make mention that while a 3GHz i3 processor should suffice for the minimum settings, the complexity of running a 3v3 match-up in a fast-paced RTS title like Dawn of War III may mean that it isn't enough to cope. If you're running on a minimum specced machine, expect to stick with smaller skirmishes.
