One thing we love about Cities: Skylines, the excellent city builder that we named as Game of the Year 2015, is that even two years later Paradox and Colossal Order are still bringing out brand new and interesting content. In May we had the Mass Transit DLC, which was great.
Now Paradox have just announced the next DLC expansion for Cities Skylines as Concerts, which will be out August 17. As you might guess from the name, it adds Ice Cream Stalls. No not really, it adds the ability to plan Concerts.

The DLC will allow players to plan everything you might need to put on a concert. For starters creating a suitable festival area with brand new buildings. After that you need to entice bands to come to your 'burg and encourage ticket sales, through advertising campaigns and driving up a band's popularity. You'll even be able to decide on new laws and a security budget for the festival. We wonder, if you don't have enough security will spectators rush the stage? That'll be fun to see.
Even more interestingly, Paradox have arranged for several real-life bands to make an appearance at your concerts. There will even be a new radio station that plays their songs. Now, we admit now our band and singer knowledge is utterly lacking (to put it politely), so we've no idea if these bands are well known or not. Bands/singers include NESTOR, Elijha MOTi, and Lily La Roux. Regardless, it's still pretty cool that they're lending themselves to a city-building game of all things.
The one thing we do have to say if that this will be one of the smaller expansions to Cities Skylines. The DLC is most comparable to Stadiums in terms of content rather than bigger expansions like the previous DLC Mass Transit. Regardless it's priced to match, and at least this time Colossal Order didn't release a free expansion that undercut the one they wanted to sell.
The Concerts DLC expansion for Cities: Skylines will be available August 17 and is priced £4.99/$5.99.
