In a brief interview on the PC Gaming Show at E3, PC Design Lead at Rare, Ted Timmins, just confirmed a few facts about upcoming action-adventure game Sea of Thieves.
Sea of Thieves, described as “Pirates of the Caribbean meets The Goonies” by the Rare team, will support 4K, unlocked framerates and the 21:9 aspect ratio. Timmins also mentioned that the game will be released on PC and Xbox One simultaneously. PC gamers will be pleased to discover that the Rare team have chosen to build each version on the game in parallel, meaning that PC players will not just be receiving a port of the game, but a full version built from the ground up.
While Sea of Thieves does not have a solid release date, it’s set to release early in 2018. The game is also in a Technical Alpha right now. To sign up and test it out head over here.
