Before we even have access to the game, FunCom has given us complete freedom over Conan Exiles.
Launching on January 31 through Steam Early Access, Conan Exiles is a survival sim with that deviates more to the biblical side rather than the sci-fi sides of its competitors.
Whether you decide to venture through the harsh landscape of Hyboria on your lonesome or with potential friends, you'll be able to share your experience in a multitude of different ways. Either stick to playing by yourself, invite friends to join through a locally hosted session, jump on with strangers through FunCom's own dedicated spaces or rent your own server for private or public use.

Anyone in command of their own play session or server can make use of some rather robust server features. Limit or buff the yield of harvestable nodes, toggle the use of the game's signature 'Avatars', cancel sandstorms and control what is lost upon death through PvP or otherwise - or just turn PvP off, if you'd rather keep things civil. Those with some Unreal Engine knowledge will even be able to make us of mod tools to add their own new content.
“The great thing about these games is that you can play them however you want,” said Creative Director Joel Bylos. And don't expect anything else. Servers are expect to support groups dedicated to casual building, role-playing or hardcore PvP.
