With Tyranny not seeing much in the way of additional content since its release late last year, its abscence from PDXCON 2017 was likely a tough pill for players to swallow. Apparently saving the news for the E3 onslaught, however, comes the Tyranny's first expansion - Bastard's Wound.
We updated our Tyranny Patch Notes page early this morning to reflect the free update that showed up following yesterday's announcement. Being named the 'Tales from the Tiers', it introduced New Game+ to keep eager adventurers busy while Obsidian Entertainment work diligently on the expansion set to release later in the year.
The storyline of Bastard's Wound takes place during the main scenario of the base game. During your quest to decide what's right and wrong for the realm of Tiers as evil sweeps through it, you come across the titular habitat set up for fleeing denizens looking to escape the onslaught of Kyros the Overlord. Still a harbinger of judgement yourself, it's all a question of how you'll deal with the refugee settlement.
An SEC Filing Tip Us Off About An Impending Expansion, But PDXCON Didn't Deliver The Goods
The update itself brings new characters and storylines into the mix while expanding on its current cast of Beastmen and party members; Verse, Lantry and Barik through new companion quests. Following Paradox Interactive's tradition, the paid Bastard's Wound content will be supplemented with a free update offering new voice acting, a new ending and an expanded third act.
Tales of the Tiers - released today - should be enough to tie players over until Bastard's Wound kicks off later this year. The current update introduces additional in-game events, stories and creatures to further hone your judgemental craft. Take a look at some gameplay down below.
