It looks like we won't be hearing the last of The Walking Dead for quite some time yet as Robert Kirkman's survival story has been confirmed to make its VR debut across a number of games going forward.
According to IGN, Kirkman's Skybound Interactive and David Ellison's similarly named Skydance Interactive are teaming up to develop mulitple VR video games revolving around the The Walking Dead.
As anyone who's been keeping up with just about any part of The Walking Dead's multiple media over the years will know, it's never really been about the zombies. There may be thousands of them roaming across America in each season, game and comic - but they've never been the main threat or focus. That title goes to humanity.

Overkill Following It's Delay Into 2017
Much like how the TV show typically focuses on the relationships and drama revolving around its extensive cast of characters - so have the popular Telltale series of games. And that's what the aim of these VR games will be, it seemed. Rather than focus on the action of cutting down the shambling dead or looking to scare you silly in virtual reality, these new games will, again, focus on interacting with the survivors as they struggle to build a new life for themselves.
The first of these currently unnamed games will focus on a new set of characters "which players will experience through an innovative contextual interaction system.". If you'd like to see what Skydance can manage in VR, check out their first project - Archangel.
