With Resident Evil 7 hitting fever pitch and reignited the passion of classic Survival Horror, a number of Resident Evil veterans are looking toward the future.
Garnering attention and the helping hand of a number of these industry professionals, Daymare: 1998 has hit Kickstarter in the hopes of conjuring up $180,000.
Invader Studios - the group behind the upcoming horror title - hopes to ship the game by July next year with a $14 pledge being the minimum requirement to grab a copy at launch. Lower tiers are available for those who just want to show their support or for those who just like to see there names in the credits of as many Kickstarter projects as possible.
How Did Capcom Do Without Some Of The Key Resident Evil Alumni? Very Well, Actually
Kazuhiro Aoyama - who you may recall as the Director of Resident Evil 3: Nemsis after making a name for himself as the Planner of the original Resident Evil - is on board as 'Producer Associate' while Satoshi Nakai - the enemy designer on Code Veronica X and Resident Evil 0 joins in the same role as his past works. Kazuhiro said he wishes to "give Invader Studios as much of my burning blood as possible" with Nakai simply wanting to "create as many bizarre, creepy and terrifying monsters as possible!"
They're both in it for the long-haul - much like the Kickstarter backers. After a single day, the campaign managed to reach $10,000 with over 300 backers. The big names of Resident Evil fame will likely be the deciding factor behind this one's success. If you need a little convincing, however, there's a debut trailer down below.
