Cutting it close with it's expected Q1 2017 release date, Focus Home Interactive is keeping the dream of Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom alive with a new overview trailer.
As of the middle of January, developers Enigami announced that the main PC build of the game was 'feature finished' with the last remaining weeks going into ensuring each build - both PC and console - is as bug free as possible.
Assuming no major issues arise from the current wave of final testing, Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom should be on track with its Q1 release - meaning there's still plenty of time to lap up a 15% pre-order discount through Steam if it's already managed to whet your appetite. Long being known to have drawn inspiration from Final Fantasy and, more obscurely, the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm games, the new Overview trailer below demonstrates a solid understanding of that idea.
Need To See More Of Shiness' Varied Landscapes? We Have Plenty Of Screenshots
With its heavy cartoon graphics, retro-styled adventure/platforming segments and hybrid combat system, you'd be hard-pressed to not see this one as a continuation of the work done by BANDAI NAMCO and CyberConnect2. Take your band of adventurers through a colourful world, find some mounts to make things a little easier and beat monsters senseless with flashy Hyper Moves. With a manga being dished out upon purchase, it's hard to not see this becoming the basis of a French cartoon is things go well. Much like Wakfu or Code Lyoko.
Again, without a solid release date other than Q1 2017, who knows when we're to expect Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom to be ready for examination. But given the timing of the Overview trailer, we should be getting confirmation before long. Check out out on Steam.
