We're winding down E3 with a couple more announcements. While Call of Cthulhu isn't one of them, Cyanide Studios' latest game did receive a new trailer.
Visually gorgous from past trailers alone, the team used the quieter times of E3 to issue a new video focusing on the weird and wacky, warping world. Any mention of Cthulhu and you know you're in for a good time.
The trailer itself doesn't even start off innocent before kicking it into overdrive. We're presented with a dark and dismal picture from the get-go as Edward Pierce, private investigator, walks up to a gothic gate with lantern in hand. Of course, a tombstone is nearby further signalling that big houses, dark skies and tombs rarely line up to being anything good. Chasing an unknown figure through the winding corridors of an unknown house doesn't seem like the best idea - but Edward is clearly a man of little fear.
Scare Yourself Silly With These New Call Of Cthulhu Images From Cyanide Studio
Call of Cthulhu is billed as an investigation RPG. Certainly not like those hidden object games or rapidly produced Nancy Drew-esque adventures, this is a graphically intensive look at the Lovecraftian creature of myth. Known for its long slumber and maddening powers, we're taking on the role of Edward as he succumbs to the creature's influences as he gets closer to the conspiracy when investigating a mysterious death.
With no other release date other than '2017' set in stone right now, there's another potential 6 months before we get an answer to so many questions.
