Monday saw Creative Assembly tease the reveal of pre-order bonuses for Total War: Warhammer 2 while outlining their DLC plans going forward. A tease no longer, they're revealed the goods - a new playable race compatible with the first Total War: Warhammer.
Those who pre-purchase - or already have pre-purchased - Total War: Warhammer 2 was gain access to the Norscans on August 10. Notice how that's far before the release date for the upcoming sequel? That's because they're playable in the original game.
Known for their swift and vicious battle techniques, the Norscans arrive as two playable factions - each with their own new Legendary Lord unit. Pulling their weight in the war, they're totting massive units like the Frost-Wyrm and War Mammoth.
According to the Steam description "... between the Chaos Wastes and the Sea of Claws, lies Norsca. A barren, inhospitable peninsula in the far north of the Old World, it is home to ferocious tribes of warriors, hardened by the relentless blizzards, the barren icy tundra and the monstrous denizens of this accursed land. Fanatical servants of the dark gods, they will stop at nothing to prove their primal might, in a relentless hunt for worthy foes and fresh raiding grounds.</b>"
Basically, they just want to kill people. It's a blood sport. A test of strength. Sure, you could argue they're brainwashed - but you know they're just brutes. Better yet, you'll be able to use them in Total War: Warhammer 2's combined campaign map like every other legacy race you own. If you're late to the game, they'll be a separate purchase.
