Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus has a lot going for it, but some of its first-person aesthetics aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. Thankfully, modders have come through with a couple new tweaks that can make the game a little more inviting for everyone.

Head sway in the game has been a particular point of contention among shooter fans. Anyone who has played has probably noticed that the player vision sways back and forth as they navigate B.J. Blazkowicz through Wolfenstein 2’s Nazi-infested war zones. While simulated head movement is neat and all, there are most certainly players out there who enjoy a little bit more accuracy and less motion sickness in their movements and modder Methanhydrat has heard their call.
Methanhydrat recently released a mod which almost entirely removes the head sway from the game. Not all of the kinks are worked out yet, as there are areas involving special interactions with the war map or the constrictor that cause glitches when the mod is active. That said, the mod is also set so you can toggle head bob off and on with the push of a button and avoid most issues.
As a bonus, Methanhydrat’s New Colossus Tweaker mod also forces the game to display a single dot reticle regardless of what weapon you’re using, allowing for a little consistency in accuracy with pretty much any weapon.
Modding for Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus isn’t quite a wide-spread thing, but Methanhydrat isn’t the only one putting in the work. A cheat table has also been released for the game through the Infinity client. Infinity has been a hub for mod, trainer, and cheat table creation for various popular games including Witcher III: The Wild Hunt, and Conan Exiles for some time. User STiNGERR has created the Infinity-powered mod for The New Colossus, featuring unlimited ammo and health tweaks, teleportation, and other rather useful manipulations that would allow players to play around or quite simply frolic through the game.
It’s hard to say what else we might see out of the modding community for Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, but at least with these two particularly relevant creations in hand, the scene is off to a prominent and speedy start for a game that doesn’t officially feature mod support.
Both of these mods can be found and downloaded here.
