Ready to wield a claymore in a video game adaption of an anime series that isn't specifically called 'Claymore'? Ready or not, Guts is here to chop up the opposition with this Berserk and the Band of the Hawk launch trailer.
There's a lot to take in with a relatively brief 1:48 video when the vast majority of the game will be spend slashing through hundreds of push-over enemies like a lawnmower to neglected garden.
With so many enemies coming your way in record time - and Berserk being a painfully appropriate name - you'll be seeing your fair share of blood splatter over those fairly well detailed anime-esque character models. It's likely to be a treat for anyone remotely interested in either the Berserk franchise or long-standing legacy of KOEI TECMO's 'Dynasty Warriors' kingdom. Much like One Piece, Transformers and Zelda before it, it's another take on the classic 'one versus thousands' formula blended with an over-the-top anime paint job.
Pulled straight from the mouths of KOEI TECMO themselves, "Players will follow the daring and heroic journey of Guts, Griffith, Casca and the Band of the Hawk as they slash and smash their way through a sinister realm of magical and demonic fiends.". Could be a good stress reliever either way. What's better than bashing your way through countless bad guys like butter and turning turning rage into a weapon?
That's a joke. Don't do that. Don't bottle up your emotions, but find a safer approach to letting it out. Tennis, perhaps? Berserk and the Band of the Hawk is now available through either the Humble Store or Steam.
