We hope you wasn't looking forward to fighting off your rivals with a good old fashioned Dinosaur cannon brawl, because you're going to have to wait a little longer. There's another ARK: Survival Evolved delay coming your way!
A little while ago, we updated out usual ARK: Survival Evolved patch notes page with details surround an update that landed earlier this month. It was supposed to land with additional features - most notably the Tek Tier - before it was branched off to come in its own update later in the month.
Further missing the mark with their expectations, Studio Wildcard took the forums a couple of days ago to announce the Tek Tier update wouldn't be landing in its delay slot, either. What was once planned for a January 20 release, the big day turned into one containing nothing but the sudden news of another delay - one of precisely 10 days. Promising another surprise to make up for it, all we can do is hope that surprise isn't enough to offset the patch into February, breaking a monthly update chain the game has held onto for quite a while now.

The major update is planned to introduce a new wave of technology to the survival game already featuring magical hands and prehistoric beasts. An interesting mix of both, it's time to focus less on the resurrection of additional dead creatures and more on the introduction of jetpacks, power armor laser cannons strapped to the skulls of the aforementioned monsters. The first of a planned bunch of content updates, it's now planned for release on January 30 alongside the real-time growing of facial hair. Neat!
But if you're after something to do while you wait, there's always the hunt for the game's newest beast - the Equus! It might not be capable of blowing up the nearest neighbouring planet, but it is a horse. And horses made a sizable improvement to the good ol' Western.
