Now too many years in the making to actually keep track of, Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom finally has a release date. It's April 18.
Being a French-made indie-RPG with its own manga, Shiness comes from the mind of a man who was, coincidentally, once a child. Anthropomorphic creatures populate a vibrant world and beat their enemies senseless in the name of the greater good.
Despite that vague self-description, it makes for a fairly family-friendly game. Chado and his 4 faithful companions are now less than a month away from making a dangerous trip through a universe destined to break apart. Discovering the power of the 'Shiness', Chado and his group attempt to ease the conflict of its warring kingdoms with this new-found power.
Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom shows off beautiful new environments
Beginning active development back in 2013, Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom has come a long way - evidently. Now of the verge of release, the video that spilled the beans on its close-at-hand release date wasn't another gameplay trailer, but a soundtrack sampler.
