On these bright, Summer days what could be better than cracking open a cold beverage, closing the black-out curtains and being creeped out by your own TV? Nothing. Conarium thinks the same.
Billed as a tribute and homage to Lovecraft, Zoetrope and Iceberg Interactive are gearing up to launch Conarium - an adaption of sorts to 'At the Mountains of Madness' - a classic Lovecraft novella from 1935.
Sounding similar in practice to that of Frictional Games' Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Conarium doesn't want you dealing with your problems with brute force. Waking up in a room filled with a mysterious pulsating noise, there's a device nearby projecting a Danse Macabre light-show on the walls encasing your presence. Only remembering your place in Upuaut, a chilling base found by the South Pole, you're tasked with figuring out the goings-on. The place is empty when it most certainly shouldn't be.

Traversing through dreams and shaky visions is key to finding the all-important answer. Somehow knowing that Frank Gilman himself is likely part of that answer, his rattled memory - of lack of - is, in itself, a driving force. Braving an unknown that should be known and simply knowing that you should know the answer is part of the problem. A problem that seems almost alien without having a solid grasp of the cause. Are you dead? If you are, why are you still here?
Set to launch June 6, Conarium has been given a fine gift - a 4K trailer. One it's willing to share with the world. Steel your nerves and be ready for the unknown - it's likely down below.
