The Lifeblood expansion adds the following features to the game:
- Upwell Refineries expanding Moon Mining. These refineries have improved moon mining capabilities, which can blast huge surface chunks from moons, tractor them in, and detonating them into lucrative asteroid fields. This makes moon mining "a much more active and collaborative endeavor".
- Pirates Factions have new forward operating bases. These provide fleet-sized challenges for pilots to take down in high security space.
- Resource Wars requires player cooperation, as they load their freighters with ore while others defend against nearby pirates.
- Rebalanced frigates, destroyers and cruisers.
- The Guristas Shipyards have new challenges along with new capital class vessels—the Caiman, Loggerhead and Komodo.
- The Agency: a new tool that gives an accessible scan of all nearby PvE opportunities.
- Dozens of other changes including the new Mining Ledger and Wagers on Duels.
