The latest trailer for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, the sequel to the superb reboot of id Software's FPS by MachineGames, has appeared on Bethesda's YouTube channel. You can check it out at the bottom of this post.
It's a follow-up to one of the best scenes in the E3 Reveal Trailer of the game, where a German Commandant soldier encounters series main character BJ Blazkowicz in an American diner and orders a Strawberry Milkshake.
Wolfenstein: The New Order is high on our list of the Best Shooters on PC!
Here's our list of Upcoming Games, Wolfenstein II is due out very soon!
Following a few exciting shots of the game including BJ blasting through a wall, dual-wielding machine guns, taking on fire-breathing Nazi robot dogs, riding a train and controlling one of those dogs, the trailer cuts to the diner where a young American boy is practicing his German (and his propaganda) with his mother. They quickly hurry out when the German soldier arrives.
What follows is one of those excellently tense scenes that Wolfenstein: The New Order did so well and Wolfenstein II seems to be continuing, seemingly just as well: conversational scenes with the enemy where you can't shoot and have to make decisions about how you're going to respond. Are they on to you? Can you get away with bluffing? Or should you just put a bullet between their eyes and bring the entire German army down on you?
The German Commander is just being particularly snake-like, it seems, and he doesn't know who BJ is. He's just being a pain in the ass, basically. Watch the wonderful forced laughter of the barman about halfway through the conversation.
Of course while the Nazi officer hadn't suspected anything before he certainly does at the end, as he spots BJ's picture right on the noticeboard. Things kick off, and the trailer ends. Guess we have to wait until October 27 when Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus comes out to find out what happens next.
