Yes, Star Wars Battlefront 2 isn't too popular right now, but despite making a few stupid problems we're eager to see what else DICE has in store for the game. A leaked screenshot may have the answer. It shows a new Character Class for the game, the Sentinel, which the screenshot shows as taking the form of the popular ARC Troopers from The Clone Wars cartoon series.
Our final verdict on Star Wars Battlefront 2 for PC!
Star Wars Battlefront II is the worst scoring AAA game this year.
This information was posted on Reddit by the user uninspired_zebra, who usually has accurate information. The main screenshot can be seen below, although bear in mind the model is a placeholder.
This shows a new Character Class coming to Star Wars Battlefront 2, to go with the current four of Assault, Heavy, Officer and Specialist - although this will be a tougher Reinforcement bought with Match Points, to go with Aerial and Enforcer. It's the version for the Republic Clone Army and the screenshot says it's the Advanced Recon Commando Troopers from Clone Wars, the Elite troops of the army. It says they have "superior sniper capabilities and a powerful health boost".
Current Star Card upgrades include 'Battle Hardened' (health boost), 'Survivalist' (improved health regen), 'Sentinel Training' (gain health for defeating enemies), 'Sentinel Expanding Influence' (increased Area of Effect on alternate fire, whatever that is), and 'Sentinel Defence Master' (shield increase). For Sentinels in the other factions, fans have guessed Shock Troopers, Royal Guards or even Dark Troopers for Empire, Droidekas, MagnaGuards or Commando Droids for the Separatists, Praetorian Guards for the First Order, and god knows for the Rebels or Resistance - X-Wing Pilots maybe?
Star Wars Battlefront 2 however is still having a bad time. Lucasfilm seemingly has made EA pull all microtransactions from the game and they probably won't be coming back soon, but the progression problems involving Star Cards still remain as games are simply not balanced. Meanwhile EA and DICE planned for years of content, beginning with new heroes (Finn and Phasma) and a map (Crait) for The Last Jedi, paid for entirely by microtransactions, and now EA can't do that.
We're still playing, but we're not sure we'll survive long enough to see the Sentinel Class.
