Path of Exile 2’s patch 0.2.0g promises more improvements for Grinding Gear Games’ action-RPG following the launch of its divisive Dawn of the Hunt update, with improved loot drops and corrupted nexuses coming our way soon.
The developer also aims to tackle “a flurry of other minor to moderate changes,” as it has with the smaller updates preceding PoE2’s patch 0.2.0g, including reducing the difficulty of Simulacrum encounters.
Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.2.0g
“The first improvement is around Loot drops,” the developer explained in a forum post dedicated to its plans for Path of Exile 2’s patch 0.2.0g. “The three main changes you can expect around this is to first mitigate unlucky streaks from bosses in the campaign by raising the floor of the quality of their drops. The second is to increase the quality of drops from bosses overall, and the third is to improve the drops from monsters possessed by Azmerian Wisps.”
From there, the number of corrupted nexuses required for obtaining all the Atlas passive points will be reduced. In addition, they will also be easier to spot inside the fog that covers the unexplored parts of the Atlas map.
In their current state, the developer admits that “they can be difficult and time consuming to find.”
While the above changes are the main focus areas of PoE2’s patch 0.2.0g, the developer is also targeting to “improve accessibility to Pinnacle content, reduce the difficulty of Simulacrums, and also increase the rewards and lower outlying difficulty spikes from Remnants in Expeditions.”
Although these changes don’t cover all of the existing pain points brought up by players since Dawn of the Hunt launched, they’re all welcome improvements.
The developer plans on releasing Path of Exile’s patch 0.2.0g “as soon as we can” while “remaining flexible around this because of the Easter Holidays and ANZAC Day (A New Zealand public holiday).”
It also assures players that this is just one small step on the way to the action-RPG’s full launch, as work on making the game better continues. Over the coming weeks, we should see similar patches delving into other areas of the game that aren’t, perhaps, as fun as players hoped they would be.
Path of Exile 2 is currently available in early access on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
