It's been over a year since players were given the chance to experience Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII. What can only be compared as Tecmo Koei's Eastern shot at a Total War game, it's about to receive its first real expansion.
The 'Fame and Strategy' expansion pack is set to launch through Steam on April 25 while marking the game's first appearance on an Xbox system with a simultaneous Xbox One debut.
As the name suggests, one of the key additions to the game comes with the 'Fame' system. Players will be given the opportunity to gain bonus character traits by completing a range of achievements both on and off the battlefield. Starting off small, it'll become possible to rise through the Prestige ranks and carve a new life as an Officer.
As a strict battle-oriented feature, the War Council will allow Generals to pick and choose which Officers will stand by them in battle. Taking place prior to engaging the enemy in combat, it should offer up new ways to outsmart your opponent or fall to their own ploys more quickly than before. Should the standard be getting stale, you'll soon be able to craft your own scenarios with the Event Editor, too.
Of course, war isn't always fought with weapons. Set them aside for a lengthy debate with your would-be assailants or take to the seas for some good old-fashioned Naval combat. Should war be getting the better of you, switch to Civic Development system and spend your final days tilling the fields. You could turn the tides of battle with a good vegetable or two. An army needs to eat!
