Dead by Daylight's matchmaking system has got plenty of problems, some of which we've written about, too. That's why improvements are underway!
Dead by Daylight updated matchmaking is planned to roll out into the public build of the game starting early next year, but it's got a ways to go before that. Here we've collected the juiciest bits on how the new matchmaking will work!
According to the recent blog post, the new and improved Dead by Daylight matchmaking system will place players into two different queues simultaneously: one for killers, another for survivors. Following this setup, the system will pick up players from both queues and match them together, thus creating lobbies depending on one's rank and geolocation.
Developers say that the main goal of their new matchmaking is to address the occasional lengthy matchmaking scenarios, and to even out the overall wait times across the board. The system is set to go into its testing phase during the Chapter X PTB, and if all goes well, it is planned to roll out on the live build of the game by January 2019.
The Dead by Daylight matchmaking update will not require a client-side download, so there's no need to worry about that since all of the important stuff is server-side only. Dead by Daylight is now available on Steam at a 50% off, so make use of the deal if you're interested.
