If you haven’t already been able to check out Humankind via GamePass, you’ll be delighted to learn that Amplitude Studios are releasing a demo today that allows you to try out 100 turns across three historical eras from the 4X turn-based strategy game.
Humankind’s PC demo will be available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Microsoft store when it launches today. It will include 14 different cultures and three historical eras: Neolithic, Ancient, and Classical.

If you’re feeling particularly creative, you can also use the demo to design custom maps and share them with the rest of the Humankind community, and you can also design your own avatars too.
Amplitude Studios also sent word to us that it’s running a 20% discount until the 1st December, so if you’ve enjoyed playing the game then you can continue the enjoyment by picking up a copy at a discounted rate, should you choose to do so.
If you’ve been sitting on the fence enjoying your time with Civilization 6 and looking over at Humankind wondering what could be, the demo will give you a good opportunity to check it out and see if it offers something different from the Civilization franchise.
We thought that it was a 4X strategy that fans should check out in our review, although it couldn’t quite “rival the blooming personality of the Endless games”.
Humankind’s future is looking bright as SEGA’s CEO, Haruki Satomi, recently commented on the IP, saying that “It was a good start so we can expect to make this as a series in the future.”
