Rage 2 might follow the example of Fallout 76, and straight-up not come out on Steam at all, as it turns out. In other words, Pete Hines's 'maybe' was most likely far more tentative than many of us had been hoping for.
Right now, there's no definitive answer to a question such as "Will Rage 2 come to Steam?", but Bethesda's approach to Rage 2 pre-orders is certainly dubious when it comes to the game's potential release on Valve's video game marketplace.
Rage 2 Steam may well turn out to be little more than a pipe dream, seeing as how the game's not even listed on Steam yet, and the only platform that currently allows you to place a pre-order on Rage 2 is - you've guessed it - Bethesda.net.
Additionally, whereas a number of other games on Bethesda.net also make reference to Steam DRM where applicable, such as in the case of Prey, there's no such note available on the listing for Rage 2. Most intriguing indeed, though there's no official confirmation on Rage 2 Steam availability just yet.
Rage 2 is set to come out on 14th of May, 2019. Should it not come out on Steam, will that affect your decision on whether or not you make the purchase?
