Age of Empires 4’s ranked mode icons have been uncovered, revealing the potential names of its ranks as well as the number of placement matches players will need to complete before climbing the game’s competitive ladder.
Age of Empires 4’s ranked seasons won’t arrive before the first part of next year but that hasn’t stopped players from frequently requesting it and digging through the game’s files in hopes of finding more details.
Reddit user ToraxXx uncovered Age of Empires 4’s ranked mode icons by converting some of the game’s texture files. Taking a look at them, it seems that the upcoming seasons will feature a total of six ranks, each split into three sub-ranks, as follows:
- Bronze III
- Bronze II
- Bronze I
- Silver III
- Silver II
- Silver I
- Gold III
- Gold II
- Gold I
- Platinum III
- Platinum II
- Platinum I
- Diamond III
- Diamond II
- Diamond I
- Conqueror III
- Conqueror II
- Conqueror I
These names of Age of Empires 4’s ranks were also spotted earlier, during the game’s stress test, by Reddit user -MugenNoSora-.
The uncovered icons also suggest that players will first have to play through five placement matches before they’re assigned a rank and get to climb the mode’s ladder.
Age of Empires 4’s roadmap confirms that ranked seasons will begin in Spring 2022, each one lasting a total of 12 weeks. Their structure and rewards has yet to be officially detailed, so take the findings above with a grain of salt.
