Developer Gamera Interactive has unveiled a new teaser trailer for its upcoming RPG Alaloth – Champions of The Four Kingdoms, giving us a first glimpse at the title in motion.
Said to be “the very first isometric souls-like game ever made”, the team behind it promise “skill based gameplay inspired by great classics such as Moonstone and modern masterpieces as Dark Souls”. The few gameplay snippets included in the teaser trailer, which you’ll find below, reveal that stamina management, a common element of souls-like titles, is definitely there.
Furthermore, Alaloth – Champions of The Four Kingdoms’ world, lore and character back stories are crafted by none other than Chris Avellone.
Going through its feature list, Alaloth – Champions of The Four Kingdoms promises four playable races, in the shape of humans, orcs, elves and dwarves, 12 companions, each with their backstory, alongside local multiplayer support for up to four players. The game is built on the Unity engine and one look at the teaser trailer is enough to note that it does capture at least some of the charm of older isometric RPGs.
Alaloth – Champions of The Four Kingdoms is set to release on PC sometime next year. You can find more information on the game’s website.
